This Bukhara rug, also known as Khal Mohammadi, is a handcrafted piece originating from Afghanistan. Fully hand-knotted using ancient techniques, it bears witness to a savoir-faire passed down from generation to generation. Its warp and weft are made of wool, which gives it remarkable solidity and a dense texture to the touch.
The design is distinguished by a deep red background, an emblematic color of Turkmen rugs, on which regular rows of octagonal medallions called "guls" are repeated. These tribal geometric motifs, in black, cream white and beige, are framed by several finely decorated borders. The whole exudes a visual harmony that is both warm and sophisticated.
This rug measures 197 × 276 cm, a generous size that is perfect under a living room coffee table or in the center of a living area. The original fringes are present and in good condition. The whole is in very good general condition, with vivid colors and an even pile, without noticeable wear.
